FEASIBILITY STUDY OF A FLOATING OCEAN RESEARCH + DEVELOPMENT STATION (FORDS). VOLUME I.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the Naval Research Laboratory Concept of the floating stable platform and to modify this configuration as required to insure that it meet the specific criteria as set forth. Upon completion of this analysis, the feasibility of providing such a station was to be determined. In addition to analyzing the NRL Concept, it was the purpose of this study to investigate other basic concepts which may provide a more ec6nomical or practicable (or both) station which would meet the basic requirements. By conducting t;e study in this manner, the results would be the determination of the optimum station configuration to accomplish the end envisioned. (Author)
