HARBOR ANALOG SYSTEM. PART II. TEMPERATURE STRUCTURE.

Abstract

This report classifies harbors and nearshore areas (30 fathoms shoreward) into analogous groups according to mean air and mean water temperature, tide ranges, and fresh water influence. Statistical predictions of surface air and water temperature as well as the vertical and horizontal gradients in the water from 30 fathoms shoreward are attempted. This is a preliminary report based on data from the U. S. Naval Oceanographic Office files. (Author)
