MICROFLORA AT KWAJALEIN ISLAND,
Abstract
A study was made of micjoorganisms present in the coral soil of Kwajalein Island. A total of 19 Fungal and 3 bacterial genera were recognized. These organisms were allowed to colonize sterilized plant stems and following subsequent growth from the stems into the agar were isolated and later identified by subculturing on selective medias. The total percent occurrence of these fungi in soil is discussed. (Author)
