THE EFFECT OF COBALT-60 GAMMA RADIATION ON THE CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM.

Abstract

The effect of Cobalt-60 gamma radiation on the central nervous system was studied electroencephalographically on the unstrained and unanesthetized rabbits. The phenomena of elevated threshold for inducing EEG afterreaction was observed as low as 100r after whole head single irradiation, and its degree and recovering process was found highly dose-dependent. Further investigation for lower doses less than 100r is being conducted. (Author)
