DEVELOPMENT OF A HIGH FREQUENCY ELECTRON-BEAM PARAMETRIC AMPLIFIER.

Abstract

Work on a non-degenerate electron beam parametric amplifier is described. Because of sources of electron beam noise unsuspected at the beginning of the project, the original aim of a high-frequency non-degenerate amplifier was modified to the development of a DC-pumped amplifier with a high cathode magnetic field operating at L- band. A summary of a feasibility study of traveling-wave tubes operating with the slow cyclotron mode is included. (Author)
