A TECHNIQUE FOR MICROWAVE SIGNAL RECONSTRUCTION,

Abstract

This report describes an experimental microwave signal reconstruction system. The system has the ability to accurately duplicate two parameters of a weak FM microwave signal. It performs automatically the following two functions: (1) matches the center frequency, and (2) matches the peak-to-peak deviation of the reconstructed signal to the incoming reference signal. The system uses sampling techniques to perform these functions. The principles of operation of the system's frequency compression receiver and control loops are explained in detail. The components, used in the experimental X-band system, are described, and the results of some tests are presented. (Author)
