CONTACT PROBLEMS IN THE THEORY OF ELASTICITY,

Abstract

A review is presented of the work which has been done on the subject of contact and elasticity, including the contact between two elastic bodies, one rigid and one elastic, moving contact, stationary contact, point contact, impact, and contact with friction and negligible friction. The impact problems (punch) consider various shaped bodies. The problems are reduced to intergra-differential equations and solved by approximations. An extensive bibliography on the subject is arranged alphabetically by author at the end of the monograph.
