SWAMP FOX II. REPUBLIC OF PANAMA. VOLUME IX: FOOD, CLOTHING, TENTAGE, AND EQUIPMENT.
Abstract
The use by the scientific party of Quick Serve Meals during the first phase of the exercise provided sufficient nourishment. The experimental Boot, Tropical, Direct Molded Sole, functioned more satisfactorily than the standard Boot, Combat, Leather. Quartermaster vehicle equipment such as rough terrain forklift trucks and other mobile field support equipment should be included in future exercises to evaluate the degree of mobility and their ability to operate in the jungle environment. In future field testing exercises exceeding 50 personnel and continuing for more than 30 days, it is necessary that Quartermaster type activities in the area of food preparation, field laundering, etc. be operated by Quartermaster trained personnel. Participants must be supported with the latest standard or experimental individual clothing and equipment. (Author)
