RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM INTRINSIC RELIABILITY SUBMINIATURE CERAMIC CAPACITORS.

Abstract

A formula for calculating the approximate life time of individual subminiature ceramic capacitors on the basis of electrical measurements made before life test is presented. Pre-life-test characteristics of early failures among 753 capacitors undergoing life test appear to support the lifetime formula qualitatively. A slight change in the ceramic composition has produced improved current stability which promises longer life, and this report contains some characteristics of the improved capacitor. (Author)
