ALLOCATION OF MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT RESOURCES FOR TACTICAL COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT,

Abstract

Efforts concerned a program to analyze and evaluate the support system responsible for keeping certain tactical communications equipment operational in the hands of the military user, particularly (a) allocation of available maintenance resources by echelon, (b) economics of fifth-echelon activity, and (c) establishment of float requirements. The equipment subjected to this analysis consists of four medium- to highdensity tactical communications items. The first and highest density of the four is the tactical f-m vehicular communications unit, usually designated the AN/GRC-3-8 series. The second piece of equipment is a tactical a-m radio designated the AN/GRC-19. The third item is the air-to-air and air-to-ground f-m tactical communications equipment, netting with the previously mentioned AN/GRC-3-8 series, usually designated the AN/ARC-44. The last item is the TT-4, a teletypewriter. (Author)
