X-22A TRI-SERVICE V/STOL AIRCRAFT

Abstract

System configurations based on the aircraft freeze and wind tunnel test results available have been established and effort is now progressing in layouts and details for release to manufacturing for fabrication. The one system which still involves extra concentration is the Flight Control System which required a major redesign. Weight control program effort is continuing. Prime effort in the Wind Tunnel Test program was centered on the 1/7 scale flutter model which to date reflects satisfactory results. The fuselage shear test specimen tests were completed satisfactorily and tests are in process on the duct noise specimens.
