LARGE-AREA ELECTRONIC DISPLAY PANEL.

Abstract

The objective of this project is to advance the state-of-the-art of Large-Area Electronic Display by developing a new high-resolution electron-beamdeformation system for thermoplastic film and a novel optical projection system. Evaluation of the condensing system has determined the power density spectrum of the illuminated aperture and shown that almost 100 watts are incident on this plane when a 1600 watt xenon lamp is run at high power. Work on the TIRP Design Study concluded with a configuration for the Model C TIRP Objective which should approach the desired 3000 line resolution with adequate brightness. This study program has terminated and an optical design program is now underway. Use of heated apertures has removed the problems brought about by aperture charging. (Author)
