REACTIONS OF XENON HEXAFLUORIDE WITH THE SUBSTANCES: SBF5, HCL, NH3 AND C-C5F8,

Abstract

By varying the proportions of the reactants antimony pentafluoride and xenon hexafluoride, it is possible to prepare each of the crystalline solids: XeF6.2SbF5, XeF6.SbF5, SbF5.2XeF6. Hydrogen chloride, ammonia and perfluorocyclopentene react readily with xenon hexafluoride but the products have not been found to include substances in which xenon is in combination with chlorine, nitrogen or carbon, respectively.
