GLASS MICRODOSIMETRY SYSTEM USED AT THE U. S. ARMY NUCLEAR DEFENSE LABORATORY,

Abstract

The silver-activated phosphate-glass microdosimeter system employed at the U.S. Army Nuclear Defense Laboratory is explained. The advantages and disadvantages of the system, as well as the iodiosyncracies of the microdosimeters themselves, are reported. It is concluded that this system provides an efficient and reliable method of determining gamma dose in the range from 10400 000 rads. (Author)
