HOT-WIRE MEASUREMENTS OF THE STAGNATION TEMPERATURE FIELD IN THE WAKE OF SLENDER BODIES (TASK 3.5 EXPERIMENTAL GAS DYNAMICS -- REST PROGRAM),

Abstract

A preliminary experimental study of the stagnation temperature field in the laminar wake of a conical and a wedge model has been made. The measurements were performed by means of a hotwire probe in a 20-in. diameter shock tunnel with a nominal free-stream Mach number of 16 and a stagnation temperature of 2400 K. Experimental results showing both the wake centerline stagnation enthalpy and transverse stagnation enthalpy profiles are presented. (Author)
