SIMPLE MICROFLUIDS,

Abstract

The basic field equations, jump conditions and constitutive equations of, what are called 'simple microfluent' media are derived and discussed. These fluids are shown to be a generalization of the Stokesian fluids in which local micro-motions are taken into account. Special cases in which gyrations are small and microdeformation rates are linear are discussed. The partial differential equations of the constitutively linear theory are obtained. (Author)
