BINOMIAL RELIABILITY TABLE (LOWER CONFIDENCE LIMITS FOR THE BINOMIAL DISTRIBUTION)

Abstract

The Binomial Reliability Table is presented for use in the reliability estimation of such items as missiles and electronic components when the data have been classified by attributes. The body of the table contains lower one-sided confidence limits; the sample size n ranges from 4 to 500 in unit increments; the number of reliable items, r, ranges from n/2 to n when n is even and from (n - 1)/2 to n when n is odd. The six confidence levels (80, 90, 95, 97.5, 99, and 99.5%) chosen for this table are those which the authors feel are most commonly used in reliability prediction.
