REPLENISHMENT AT SEA: DESCRIPTION OF TRANSFER MODEL,

Abstract

Described is a mathematical model that simulates the movement of solid cargo between two ships engaged in replenishment at sea. This memorandum is prepared as a guide for persons seeking to use the transfer model for analysis of replenishment at sea problems. It describes the variables treated by this model, its limitations, the method of preparing unit decks and the nature of the computer output. Illustrative examples are taken from the systems analysis where the different handling rates are described, developed, and justified. (Author)
