RADIOCHEMISTRY OF PLUTONIUM AND URANIUM IN SOIL,

Abstract

9THIS REPORT COVERS METHODS FOR THE ANALYSES OF TRACE (MICROGRAM) QUANTITIES OF PLUTONIUM AND URANIUM BY ION-EXCHANGE SEPARATION FROM FISSION PRODUCTS AND SOIL CONSTITUENTS. The plutonium is measured, either by alpha counting electroplated stainless-steel disks with a thin window counter, or by liqtid scintillation counting of the elutant from the ion-exchange step. The quantities of uranium are determined fluorometrically. (Author)
