THE DOSE RESULTING FROM 1.25 MEV PLANE SOURCE BEHIND VARIOUS ARRANGEMENTS OF IRON BARRIERS

Abstract

Calculations were performed by the Monte Carlo method to determine the dose at various positions behind parallel barriers (circular or rectangular). Also, calculations were made for a blockhouse geometry. The results were obtained for a 1.25 MeV plane monodirectional source incident on 20.5, 41.0, and 61.5 psf of iron. Comparisons were made with roof reduction factors obtained by Spencer and with experiments performed at the contractor's laboratory.
