AN INDUCED VOLTAGE TECHNIQUE FOR EXPLODING A PLASTIC PROJECTILE,
Abstract
An induced voltage technique for exploding a plastic projectile in supersonic flight was investigated. A 40-mm projectile was launched at speeds varying from 2,000 fps to 4,000 fps. Proper initiation of the explosive train was obtained. This technique was considered for application in laboratory facilities for conducting ballistic research. (Author)
