DESIGN, FABRICATION, AND TESTING OF SEALED, RECHARGEABLE SILVER-CADMIUM CELLS.
Abstract
Cell types 1 to 6 were redesigned to meet the requirements of Signal Corps Technical Requirement No. SCL-7695 and Amendment No. 3. Testing of the vent design was completed. Testing revealed that the desired venting characteristics are achieved only when a neoprene o-ring is used for the seal. Tlon was found to be unsuitable for this application. The effect of a high discharge rate on the terminal was investigated and a limiting discharge rate recommended. (Author)
