PROBLEMS IN EXPRESSION OF CLIMATE,

Abstract

In this paper some problems attendant to the expression of climate in representative and usable form are considered. Achieving the correct amount of detail for meaningful expression involves consideration of the needs of envisioned users, data adequacy, length of time units for data treatment, and the number of requisite expressions for the revealing portrayal of each element. Selection of boundary parameters in climate classification raises additional, though related, problems. (Author)
