SOLID PROPELLANTS FOR SAMLL ARMS AMMUNITION. A REVIEW AND RECOMMENDED RESEARCH,

Abstract

A survey was conducted on the status of the small arms propellant field, to delineate problem areas, and discover research and development requirements for small arms ammunition. The information presented covers: increased velocity, ingredients, stability, temperature coefficient of ballistics, barrel erosion, muzzle flash and smoke, combustion and propellant characterization, and general performance characteristics.
