UNDERWATER REVERBERATION AS A FACTOR IN ASW ACOUSTICS,

Abstract

In September 1961, experts on reverberation from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada attended a four-day seminar at the Naval Research Establishment in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. This report presents a comprehensive review of the discussions at the meeting and summarizes the conclusions and recommendations that represent basically the ideas and thoughts of a group of many of the foremost authorities on reverberation and its many ramifications. The author has added some material, principally on the statistical nature and mechanisms of reverberation. Also included is an extensive bibliography dealing with the subject of reverberation.
