THE DESIGN OF A TOTAL RADIATION THERMOPILE DETECTOR,

Abstract

A thermopile detector suitable for measuring and controlling irradiance in vacuum is described. Notable characteristics of the detector include its small physical size and output signal zero stability. Electrical heating is provided to maintain the detector case at a nearly constant temperature. Construction details along with results of detector tests made under vacuum conditions are given.
