THE EFFECT OF NUCLEAR RADIATION ON ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS, INCLUDING SEMICONDUCTORS,

Abstract

This report presents information available in the REIC files that covers the state of the art of knowledge on the effects of nuclear radiation on basic electronic parts. It represents a summary of information accumulated within the past 3 years plus information previously reported in REIC Reports Nos. 1, 10, and 18. This report presents component results that are grouped as to family within each component class type. The results presented in the report are intended to provide a basis for judging the merits of the parts when they are to be used in circuitry that will be exposed to a radiation environment. Some of the data included in the report can be considered as design oriented to the extent that they indicate radiation levels at which the parts would be expected to perform satisfactorily.
