ON THE FLEXIBLE-FLAP DAMPER FOR AIR-CUSHION VEHICLES,

Abstract

An approximate analysis of the general dynamic characteristics of a two-dimensional air-cushion craft with hinged flexible flaps, employing lumped-parameter assumptions, is made. The free oscillation system is, in general, stable. With the proper selection of inertia stiffness, flap damping, and geometrical configuration, the flexible flap may effectively be used as a forced motion damper. (Author)
