A DIRECT DETERMINATION OF THE CRYSTAL STRUCTURE OF 2,3,4,6-TETRANITROANILINE,

Abstract

The Karle-Hauptman symbolic additon procedure was used to determine the crystal structure of 2,3,4,6-tetranitroaniline. The space group is P21/c and the cell dimensions are a-, b-, and c sub zero = 7.271, 11.056, and 12.270 Angstroms, respectively. Beta = 98 deg and 47 min. The molecule is not planar and the bond distances of the ring are distorted with bonds C6C1 and C1-C2 averaging 1.44 A. (Author)
