FLUIDIZED-BED COATING WITH ORGANIC AND INORGANIC MATERIALS,

Abstract

This report, written in two parts, reviews the present technology of fluidized-bed coating processes. The first part deals with the coating of bulk substrates with organic polymers. The second part describes the use of the fluidizedbed method for obtaining inorganic coatings on metal surfaces. The principles of fluidization are discussed in relation to both types of coating. The review includes a discussion of performance factors, current applications, cost factors, and the advantages and limitations of fluidizedbed coating processes. A bibliography is presented comprising 44 references to the recent literature on organic coating and 21 annotated references to coating with inorganics. (Author)
