DRAG CHARACTERISTICS OF PLATES, CONES AND SPHERES IN THE WAKE OF A CYLINDRICAL BODY AT TRANSONIC SPEEDS,

Abstract

The drag coefficients of a circular flat plate, 45 degree half-angle cone, sphere and guide surface parachute model have been measured in the wake of a simulated ogive cylinder at transonic speeds. Stagnation and base pressure measurements were also made. The Mach number range was from 0.85 to 1.2 and secondary body size and position in the wake were selected parameters. (Author)
