RESEARCH ON COMPACT AND EFFICIENT ANTENNAS.

Abstract

The object of the research conducted under this contract is to determine whether techniques exist for raising the efficiency of electrically small and compact antennas used on aircraft, vehicle, and manpack communications equipment. A literature and patent search, and a state-ofthe-art review revealed the present status of small antenna technology, and indicated the directions on which further progress can be anticipated. Classical techniques of capacitive and inductive loading, of folding and arraying, and of ground decoupling, will receive further refinement. (Author)
