HYPERSONIC WIND TUNNEL FACILITIES IN THE UNITED STATES. REVISON 1

Abstract

This report presents a compilation of hypersonic wind tunnel facility data, with particular attention given to operating characteristics of the major hypersonic wind tunnels in the United States. The information has been compiled to assist personnel who must evaluate and select facilities for hypersonic wind tunnel test programs. A brief description is given for each facility. These descriptions include information regarding responsible personnel; nozzle and test section; instrumentation; operational status, where such information is pertinent; data reduction method, whenever this has been available; running times; and particular test capabilities of each facility.
