MACROLAMINATE PARTICLE COMPOSITE MATERIAL DEVELOPMENT.

Abstract

The program outline for evaluating processing parameters including macrolaminate particle geometry, forming methods, and sintering is described. The composition being used for this study (93.1HfO2.4.9CeO2.2MgO-Mo) is described together with preparation procedures. The forming and sintering study has resulted in increasing the flexural strength of the composite material from the 30 to 40 KSI range to the 50 to 60 KSI range. (Author)
