PROBLEMS OF EXPORT CARGO TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to indicate a practicable method for achieving a suitable emphasis on cost in management decisions resulting from cargo allocations. This report is intended to identify those implications that appear of sufficient magnitude to warrant further study in support of improved management control of the movement of Army export cargo. The material in this report is not presented as 'complex research.' It is 'fall-out' information from research effort that was specifically pointed toward the development of a cargo allocation system. Nevertheless, considerable interest ought to be evoked by the extent to which the ideas set forth herein point toward achievement of Army management objectives. (Author)
