FEASIBILITY OF A HOLLOW-CATHODE NEGATIVE-GRID TUBE FOR VHF-UHF APPLICATIONS.

Abstract

Included in this final report is the study of slotted hollow cathodes. Relationship to spacings, temperature, and grid structures are reported. D.C., as well as pulse, tests and noise measurements are shown. The performance of a microwave triode containing a hollow cathode is compared with a conventional triode at frequencies between 3.5 and 3000 mc/sec. In a rough analysis it is tried to explain the general behavior of this type of cathode. (Author)
