HIGH-ALTITUDE BALLOONS. ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY.

Abstract

The report is a brief annotated bibliography, based on some of the open-source material published in 1963 and the early part of 1964 available at the Aerospace Technology Division and the Library of Congress. Part I contains an evaluation of the state of the art of Soviet high-altitude aerological research by Soviet scientists and a history of the development of Soviet aerological investigations (equipment, techniques, and methods). Part II contains references to balloon equipment: characteristics, methods of assembling, testing, and launching. Part III consists of abstracts of papers on rubber and plastic materials used in the manufacture of high-altitude balloons. (Author)
