INTEGRAL REPRESENTATION OF CREEP AND RATE SENSITIVITY IN METALS.

Abstract

It is shown that Frechet's integral representation of non-linear memory dependent mechanical behavior may not be convenient for order sensitive solids such as metals subjected to high temperatures or high rates of strain. Order sensitive functionals may constitute a more convenient tool for the description of the mechanical behavior of such solids. In the latter part of the paper integral representations are constructed for order sensitive functionals. (Author)
