A NEW METHOD FOR STUDYING CRYSTALLIZATION OF POLYMERS.

Abstract

Electrical volume resistivity measurements made isothermally during the primary crystallization have been used to follow the course of the bulk crystallization of polydecamethylene adipate. The extreme temperature dependence of the rate of crystallization is clearly shown. Also, the data have been converted into a form whereby kinetic parameters may be calculated. The results indicate that resistivity measurements are sensitive to crystallization and can be employed to investigate the kinetics of crystallization. (Author)
