THE FUNDAMENTALS OF MATERIALS RESEARCH. PART I. VISCOELASTICITY.

Abstract

This is the first of a series of reports on certain aspects of materials researchm emphasizing the field of rheology. The purpose of the series is to provide the worker in the field of rheology with a relatively self-contained systematic account of the various theories involved as a basis for the interpretation of experimental data. It is hoped that, for this reason, this series will be useful to the experimentalist as well as the theoretician. Part I (i.e., this report) is essentially devoted to the fundamentals of macroscopic viscoelasticity. (Author)
