A Two-Photon Induced Chemical Reaction in AgCl.

Abstract

Two photon absorptions have been observed in a variety of materials. The only reported instances of the initiation of chemical reactions by such an absorption are polymerization reactions of organic molecules. We wish to report the two photon absorption by and consequent decomposition of AgCl into colloidal silver and chlorine. (Author)
