COURSE OF THE REACTION IN THE DETONATION WAVE OF MIXED EXPLOSIVES.

Abstract

An investigation of the dependence of detonation rate on charge diameter in mixed explosive charges containing explosive components of different reactivities was conducted to obtain information on the course of reactions under the high temperature and pressure conditions of the detonation wave. With such mixed charges, the detonation rate does not increase continuously with charge diameter but levels off temporarily at certain values corresponding to completion of intermediate stages of the reaction. Experimental data for such mixed charges is given in which the wave front displays a steplike character. (Author)
