NOVEL MICROWAVE FILTER DESIGN TECHNIQUES.

Abstract

This report discusses research, performed under a two-year contract for the U. S. Army Electronics Laboratories, on the design of microwave filters, impedance-matching networks, and directional couplers. New design techniques were developed, new kinds of filter structures were built and tested, and extensive numerical tables were computed. The topics discussed include: Voltage tunable filters and phase shifters; Trapped-mode band-pass filters; Coupled circular cylindrical rods between parallel ground planes; Measured performance of a capacitively loaded interdigital filter.
