Abstract

This report consists of recommended applied research and development programs in each of the following listed major manufacturing areas: (1) materials forming; (2) joining and mechanical fastening; (3) materials treatment; (4) surface conditioning and treatment; (5) electrical + electronic component fabrication techniques; (6) nonmetallic fabrication; and (7) inspection + evaluation techniques (nondestructive testing). In some manufacturing areas the need for basic research is indicated. (Author)
