THE APPLICATIONS OF COMPUTERS TO THE APL STORAGE AND RETRIEVAL SYSTEM.

Abstract

An information retrieval system has been developed at the Applied Physics Laboratory that can be used either with an IBM 1401 or a 7090 computer. Details are given on the cataloging procedures, methods of selecting descriptors, and search techniques. Features of the system as applicable to the two computers are compared. (Author)
