INSTRUMENTATION FOR A STUDY OF TEMPORARY THRESHOLD SHIFTS CAUSED BY HIGH-INTENSITY ACOUSTIC TRANSIENTS.

Abstract

This report presents a description of the two major pieces of instrumentation developed to facilitate a study of temporary threshold shifts caused by high-intensity acoustic transients. Details of construction and performance are given about a flexible arbitrary function generator and a high-level earphone which, in combination, can produce a wide variety of acoustic transients similar in some respects to the sound of some contemporary U. S. Army weapons. (Author)
