PROCESS CONTROL METHODS FOR DETERMINING SMALL AMOUNTS OF MOISTURE IN PYROTECHNICS. I. ELECTROLYTIC HYGROMETER.

Abstract

A project designed to develop process control methods for determining the moisture content of pyrotechnics is in progress. The first stage of this project involved a survey of commercially available instruments. This report describes the results of the survey and gives a detailed evaluation of the electrolytic hygrometer, the instrument considered most promising. Limited data obtained with other instruments is presented but further work is planned since they appear to offer advantages not attainable by the electrolytic hygrometer. (Author)
