CHARGE TRANSFER AND ELECTRON PRODUCTION IN HYDROGEN NEGATIVE IONS + HYDROGEN COLLISIONS,

Abstract

The cross sections for charge transfer and electron production in collisions between hydrogen atoms and hydrogen negative ions (H-) have been measured over the energy range 100 to 40,000 ev using modulated atomic-beam techniques in a crossed-beam experiment. Agreement of the experimental results with the perturbed-stationarystates calculation for charge transfer of Dalgarno and McDowell is quite satisfactory. (Author)
