DISCRIMINANT FUNCTIONS: PROPERTIES, CLASSES, AND COMPUTATIONAL TECHNIQUES.
Abstract
The research described explores and compares properties of discriminant functions that are optimal with respect to one or more diverse criteria. A discriminant function is described as a real-valued function used in the process of deciding which of two or more states of nature is true. The present study is limited to problems involving two states of nature. (Author)
