AN EIGHT-CHANNEL SCANNING DIGITIZER.

Abstract

An eight channel all solid state digital recording system is described. Frequency variable inputs are digitized and recorded on punched paper tape as words containing 4 to 20 bits. Programming features are included that allow for a wide varity of output formats. The data recording equipment to be described here was designed primarily for use on the floating instrument platform Flip presently in use by the Marine Physical Laboratiry. The possibility of using the equipment for other oceanographic problems was kept in mind, resulting in a flexible digital recording instrument. (Author)
